I love the Old Cherokee Tale of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, ‘My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.

One is Evil –  For the soul, it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. 

For the body, it is sugar, pharmaceutical drugs, chemicals in your food and environment e.g. what you use in your home from shampoos soaps etc., processed food.

The other is good – For the soul, it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.’ 

For the body, it is, real healthy organic chemical free food and water, vitamins and minerals, Sunshine (vitamin D), a little exercise etc.

The grandson thought about it then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’

The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.’

This is such a lovely story: so simple and yet so true. I believe each and every one of us has these two wolves running around inside us. The Evil wolf or the Good Wolf is fed daily by the choices we make with our thoughts and our food choices. What you think about, dwell upon and eat & drink will appear in your life and influence your behaviour and body.

We have a choice, feed the Good Wolf and it will show up in our character, body, mind habits and behaviour positively. Or feed the Evil Wolf and our whole world will turn negative: like poison, this will slowly eat away at our body & soul.

You are what you eat and think, simple as that.

Science has proven that changing food habits not only benefit and positively change children’s behaviour but adult’s behaviour as well

The crucial question is “Which are you feeding today”?

Our bodies are finely tuned machines! If you compare your body with a racing car our stomachs would be the engine. If you put the wrong fuel in your car it will cough, miss, spit, seize up and eventually break down. Then you will need to take it to a mechanic to give it a tune up and service, and probably have to replace some parts. If you continue doing that to your car it will eventually be a write off.  Similarly, this happens when you put the wrong fuel in your body, it will cough miss and spit and eventually breakdown.  Why is it, some people treat their cars better than their own bodies? They wash & polish it, they service it more regularly than they are supposed to, they put the most expensive fuel and oil in it, but when it comes to their own body they abuse it and feed it with toxic chemicals and poisons treat themselves with no value and they care for it more than they care for themselves.   Then as time goes by the symptoms of living life like this takes control and that is when autoimmunity and other chronic disease take hold and sadly when you go to most regular mainstream GP’s they are only trained to prescribe medicines to mask symptoms ignoring the root cause of the condition, leaky gut and other environmental factors such as chemical exposure.

Your health is everything! If you do not have your health you cannot enjoy life with family and friends, and you won’t be able to enjoy your car either!

If you love your family and friends then you will do what is best for them, and that is stay in good health. Stop making excuses as to why you can’t and start making reasons of why you should and can! You might not love yourself and there are deep hurts and feelings that prevent you from doing the right thing, so stop focusing on yourself for motivation and focus on those you love, do it for them, you will soon find reasons to love yourself after you adopt this mindset.

There is no use slaving your life away for the betterment of your family only to get sick with disease and chronic illness when you are older and all those savings will be spent on doctors & medicines and not being able to enjoy good quality of life in your later years. When we talk holistic healing we are talking about the person as a whole, your body, mind and spiritual healing.

You don’t have to suffer from autoimmune disease or other chronic illness.

We are designed to have incredible self-healing in our bodies, our immune systems, which is in our gut, are designed to fight every disease, it is an incredible piece of machinery.

Our grandparents lived in a time when food was real food and there were very limited amount of toxic chemicals in our food, water and the environment. Today because of ignorance and greed they pump tons of toxic stuff into our food, water and the environment.
